Completion at Phillimore GardensPosted on April 5th 2016
Works have successfully finished at our project in Phillimore Gardens for the Phillimore Trust.
Lees Associates acted as lead consultant for the project, which involved the substantial reconfiguration and rebuilding of the existing property, including lowering and extending the basement, the introduction of a glazed orangery to the rear, two new plant rooms and a sweeping staircase wrapping around a new glass lift. Previously hindered by a poorly proportioned mid-century roof extension, the final semi-detached but generous family home now sits comfortably with its neighbour once again.
The interiors have been finished to an exquisite level of detail by designers Lambart & Browne adopting a modern take on a deco style. The house has 6 bedrooms, 5 wet rooms, a family games room, media suite and a generous drawing room with bespoke joinery throughout. ‘Her bathroom’ and dressing room boast nickel in-laid joinery with bath-side views over Holland Park to the west. A fully timber lined study with a flush hidden door provides a unique sanctuary from the world with further views over the park.
The lowered basement now blends seamlessly with a sunken patio entered via timber bi-fold doors. When folded back these create one large inside-outside kitchen/living space – perfect for family time, a bbq or a mid-summer party. The garden backs immediately onto Holland park whose greenery provides a tranquil backdrop to the garden views most enjoyed from the octagonal orangery which extends from the ground floor.
The scheme has now joined London’s prime rental market. For more photos, see the portfolio page.
