Money realised through the privatisation of Bedford Borough Council’s housing stock funded the refurbishment of the late-Victorian Corn Exchange in the centre of Bedford, providing a new out-of-London home for the London Philharmonia, and a venue for local activities including beer festivals and trade fairs.
