Restoring this Grade II listed property to a single family home

Building on the practice’s reputation as a troubleshooter, Lees Associates were the seventh architect to work on the conversion of this Grade II* listed property from eight separate deteriorating apartments back to its original use as a single family home.

Working closely with The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s conservation department

Lees Associates secured planning and listed building consent for a host of changes to the original design, liaising closely with the head of The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s conservation department, who put the project forward for an award, which the client declined for reasons of privacy.

Lees Associates successfully restructured the faltering project and oversaw the successful completion, extending it further with an inside-outside swimming pool, spa and cinema in the basement. The interior design was undertaken by Lees Associates own team, designing a number of custom pieces, including an impressive four metre long dressing table and mirror and an enormous glass table illuminated with embedded LEDs and “Harry Potter” candles floating above.

Lees Associates, as designers and lead consultant, were retained to work on the client’s country residence.
